no one is visiting the MLPA section!!

including me

anyway there have been some important oppertunities for us all to participate
if someone got the e-mail link to do the survey and did not complete it
you can pm me i can help direct you on how to re activate it or if you want to check that your survey was processed properly

353 surveys completed they wanted to have 700 now is the chance to change
remember this data may also mean the potental for us to have or not have a second stakeholder to represent us

from terry mass
California Spearos,
We are at the bottom of the list for representation!
The following is a list of user groups. The first number is completed surveys, the second is those who signed up to do the surveys.

Completed
Signed-up

Dive
53
220

Kayak
89
316

Pier/Shore
83
496

Private Vessel
128
765

Grand Total
353
1797

These numbers diminish our overall input. Let's see if we can improve upon them.

Folks,
This is your opportunity to influence the out come of the MLPA process.

just in from ECO-trust,
===================
I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on the status of the Ecotrust on-line recreational survey and also thank you and your organization as well as many individual fishermen for patience and assistance as we worked through some technical issues with the on-line tool. We recognize that the tool isn’t perfect (even yet), but I’d like to ask you to help remind individuals taking the survey that we cannot fix problems unless you (or they) tell us what the problems are. Ecotrust staff are happy to take questions by e-mail (fish@ecotrust.org) and if that doesn’t work, we’ll be happy to get on the phone with someone, or even meet up with them and work through the survey with them.

To date, 1050 individuals have signed up to participate. All have now been sent an e-mail with a link to the survey. We have 216 completed interviews. As you can see below, many fishermen participate in multiple user groups, so the total number of individuals is higher than the number of individuals completing the survey. We are also currently administering interviews to the CPFV fleet; those interviews are conducted in person.

Joe,
I think one of the problem is that this was not posted as user friendly. Can you please post the site (With a working link) of where we need to register with some instructions. I would be happy to help, but i need to know what to do
Thanks for your help,
Jonathan

they have not been perfect at the process either

Re: no one is visiting the MLPA section!!

I know this is a Socal MLPA, Should norcal spearos take the survey? Some of us dive in Socal when given the chance but I don't know spots. I don't know if I would be a good representation.

OK
i might get shot down for this one but
i think you should sign up and when you draw the maps
put in the general areas (draw larger areas) where you have been on the charter boats

there are about 8 general use question like how often and how much money do you spend recreationally own a boat ect then some age demographics
then you access a program that brings up maps like google earth and you draw boxes like in in a paintbox immage program around regions and assign a value to a total of 100 points to the areas
you can do this for each species you take (ie wsb,YT,lobster, halibut, calico ect) it's not that hard and there is a tutorial as well
