1st gun!!! Need suggestions please!
Hey everybody. I am ready to buy my first gun and I don't know much about this sport so I need some pro opinions. Here are my questions.
What length? What brand? Band vs. Pneumatic? Do I need a reel? What kind of tip? I'm looking for an all around gun if there is such a thing. Something that I can take on a charter or boat and keep up with everyone. I'm not looking to spend to much maybe between $100-$250 tops. What do you guys think? Thanks |

Get a ROB ALLEN is the best gun out there for the money,length? It all depends on were you dive,if it's clear water 20'+ vis go with a 120cm to a 140cm and if you are spearfishing in murky waters you should use something less than 100cm. I will recomend you a gun with bands ,my personal opinion is that a pneumatic gun is very noisie under the water and maybe spook some of the fish near you. REEL? The reel is great but i recomend you a float with flag and float-line just because or your safety from boats etc... What kind of Tip? I will go with a Hawaiian Flopper, because is so simple and so effective and will hold any big sized fish.
