The Weather has finally started to warm up here in the Rocky Mountains, but we still have up to 20 inches of ice on the lakes. Hope your weather gets better quick.

I am in California this week, and it seems like I'm still in Florida. The foothills of the Sierras where I am staying (Placerville) are in the 80s during the day and about 60 at night. Saturday I skied at Sierra at Tahoe. It was about 65 on the mountain and some people were skiing in T shirts and shorts. I'm glad that we have an 8 foot base otherwise things would be getting a bit bare. I am headed to Northstar on Thursday, and the forecast looks much the same.

Too bad I did not know you were out there. I just got back. I boarded at Heavenly, Kirkwood and Squaw Valley. It was my first time at Squaw, that place rocks. Never put my jacket on in four days, just a long sleeve shirt everyday.

John:

This year I have a season pass for Northstar & Sierra at Tahoe so I haven't got the chance to ski Kirkwood, Squaw and Alpine Meadows like I usually do. Squaw is a great mountain with lots of advanced stuff - some of which is a bit of a hike. Sierra at Tahoe is a great smaller resort that is only about 45 minutes from where I stay. I spend the last half of December and the week that includes my birthday (3/19) here each year. Let me know the next time you are going to be here at that time, and we'll have to ski/board and drink a few microbrews.
