Something good.

They had a bunch of guns on display at the Blue Wild, but unfortunately I didn't take a close look. I'm already over gunned.

Bought a Typhoon from Rob Marvelle for my brother in FL at X-mas time. Didn't get a chance to go out huntig with him but did everything possible to bring it home with me, no chance! I can tell you from just holding the gun if felt awesome and can't wait to get in the water with him and the new stick this summer.

Re: any one got any info on pelaj

They are sturdy, accurate and Pelaj has a full speargun lineup from 80cm (single band) to 140cm (triple band). Handle and muzzle are easy to switch/replace with machine head screws and modular design (barrel houses threaded inserts in all the correct locations, no sheetmetal screws). Muzzle/handle always line up correctly to the rail. Spears are tough as nails, and go up to 8mm with triple notch on Kanji series.

Pelaj Kanji in fact goes up to 170cm (67") triple band if you want!

Re: any one got any info on pelaj

Hi DVD

Thanks for the post.

Ask anything you would like to know we are here to help.

There have been quite a few posts on Pelaj if you search on SB.

We spent a lot of time and effort innovating rather than replicating and have come up with a lot of firsts with many more on the way.

We are well known for having super strong barrels allowing the guns to be powered up with minimal flexing, surgically accurate shots, KISS modular build, super strong spears and excellent service.

Pelaj guns can be dis/assembled in under 30 seconds with an allen/hex key/screwdriver and all our rubbers are clip in not tie in.

A lot of "brands" we have seen in recent years comprise little more than re badged components and little in the way of innovation - there is nothing wrong with this at all but we chose to do things a little differently as this is how the sport evolves and how we stay ahead of the "me to's"

We currently have only 1.4m guns in the US at the moment with 1.5m+ guns available to order ex Australia.

Hope this helps

Kindest regards

Matt Jones

Re: any one got any info on pelaj

Just picked up a Kanji. Anyone got suggestions about what reel would work? I am scheduled to hit Catalina/Santa Barb next month and would like to get busy with this gun.

Re: any one got any info on pelaj

Phylo

There is a Pelaj reel due out later this year.

The best reel functionally wise we have seen is the RA composite reel, it is light, strong and very well priced. The down side is that you have to drill the barrel to mount it.

A very good reel is the Barracuda reel which has was developed by an Australian spearfishing legend Barry Paxman who spends more time in the water and shoots more fish in a week than most of us do in a year

This reel has had exceptional reviews by everyone who has used it and is made custom to your barrel diameter.

Search SB we posted on this reel before.

Kindest regards

Matt Jones
