Saturday 14th AM Salt Creek Report

In a word....shitty. Vis was limited and surf was up. The kelp down there is really filled in but it was like desert. I saw a few schools of bait, but they were awfully relaxed. I only saw 1 game fish and it was "fun sized", mini calico. Water was 57 degrees and I was out by 10:00 AM. I don't know If I'll do another shore dive until it gets to be above 60 degrees. Leaving a warm bed to put on a cold wetsuit needs to have a better chance of payoff. No Croaks.

Soon, Clayton soon. The water just needs to warm up a couple more degrees.

And a few more degrees after that the YT will come knockin.

I have got my guns rigged up with fresh line and bands. Just waiting now.

I actually heard a bunch of croaking in 55 degree water last week, but it didn't do me any good. Next step is to see them.

I need to follow John Hughes.

Re: Saturday 14th AM Salt Creek Report

Thanks for the report. I had a solid 59 deg. Fri. and Sat. Carlsbad and south 10 miles. Just wish I had more than 3' of vis. But I think the south swell will keep the water at or above 59 deg.
