Catalina Report for 5/11

Hit up the front and the backside of the island today, water on the front side was green and gross. Some bait in a few spots but not much at all, no life aside from that. The backside was green and hazy, just right, but no fish were spotted or heard then either. We pretty much spent the day loading and unloading our bands as he hopped around, which is still not a bad way to spend a nice weekday

West cove looks like a spanish armada with all of the boats in there, you could pretty much walk across them around the whole cove without touching the water...

Thanks Miguel. It looks like I better stick to the coast and deal with the murky water.

What are you doing going to Cat? You got the islands up there on lockdown

By the way, my phone went swimming and I lost your number, again.

Yeah, pretty much not worth the gas just to have the same water as the coastline, after checking the chlorophyll counts yesterday I was kind of expecting something a little less green out there... The water did look very ripe for wsb on the backside though, just nothing anywhere unfortunately.

Re: Catalina Report for 5/11

Oh well, at least you tried dude.
Hopefully we get warmer water by the end of this month.

As far as the water cleaning up... don't know. It has been farked for a while now.

Steve and Larry saw a few of the right kind over the weekend, in the same spots. However, shots were missed, probably due to the tecate factor.

Thanks for the report dude - I'd still rather be diving in those conditions than cooped up in lab any day... :[ I can't wait to get back out again.
