Scupper Pro TW question...

I just bought TW model and would like to install flush mount rod holders.

Consider Scotty 231 Power Locks instead, especially in the front, unless you like blocking the best place to stow your speargun and other long items below deck. I ran into this in my scrambler xt.

Google image search for "scupper pro tw flush" turns up a fair number of pics showing various setups.

I just use a hole saw, I prefer flush mounts over scotty stuff, but I fish too.

I saw by your other thread that you're also looking at the tarpon 14. Are you starting a fleet? I'll warn you, don't do it. I have 9 kayaks now and barely have room in my garage for the motorcycle. The wife ain't happy.
I've become a firm believer in test paddling a yak before buying. I've gone to Monterey Bay Kayaks twice now knowing exactly what I wanted by the specs on paper and after paddling, came home (happily) with a different boat.
I was just at Cabela's today looking at rod holders for my scupper. I want to be able to troll up here on the lakes for trout, and haven't figured out exactly how I want it set up yet. If you come up with something cool, let me know!

No I'm not collecting them.
We have 2 divers in our family.
So now we have Tarpon 140 and Scupper.
My pap and I both like Scupper so I need to sell Tarpon and find another Scupper or Trident.
Myrel (Fis Hunter) has one, Trident 15, and I like it.

I looked hard at the trident 15 before I bought my scupper because my kids both have prower 13's and I've heard the trident 15 is a lot faster than the shorter boats. The added stability over my scupper would be nice, but the 15 is heavier and with my old back, I need a lighter boat to carry...

I went out the other day with a couple of friends I had my Trident 15 a Mike had a Scupper Pro TW and Vic T had a Cobra?. The 15 was a little faster than the others (I had to stop paddling quite often to wait for them (Could be that I am awsome at paddling or they were Ding around) but I think the trident is faster with a little head wind.

The trident was faster than the scupper and the cobra the scupper also had about 10 gallons of water in it when we got to shore.

I helped carry the other two up and noticed that the trident was heavy compaired to the scupper the cobra which was a little shorter than the scupper was about the same weight.

The part I liked about the prowler is the storage I can put my gun, weight belt fins mask extra paddle and a bunch of other stuff below decks and still have lots of room.

Try the Ram tube mounts. http://www.boatersworld.com/product/MP82376586.htm They are extremely versatile, and the balls that mount to the hull can be used for mounting other stuff, or just left without the tubes if you aren't fishing. I have used both Scotty and Ram mounts and for my kayaks I have found I generally like the Ram stuff better. I'm a big fan of the ram tubes because they can be pointed in ANY direction or laid completely flat against the hull if you need them out of the way.

Word of caution - rig your yak up COMPLETELY before you drill any holes. Then use duct tape and stick your rod holders where you think you will want them. Then SIT in your yak and pretend to paddle, fish, take a leak, climb in and out, whatever you do in a day on the water. You'd be surprised at the number of times I have mounted something on the yak where it ended up interfering with something stupid that I didn't think about when the yak was sitting on my lawn. Now before I mount anything, I literally spend weeks thinking about it and imagine it being in a particular spot while I am on the water before I actually drill any holes.
