Shorediving off Barnegat Inlet

Anyone been shore diving off Barneget Inlet recently? If so, how have conditions and take been? Will be up there again over Fourth of July weekend and plan to get in the salt, conditions permitting, Friday or Saturday of that weekend.

Re: Shorediving off Barnegat Inlet

I went diving there saturday and didnt see a thing worth shooting off the beach side of the south jetty, vis was good about 8 ft

Sunday though one of my friends shot a 32inch striper, and the other a 40lbs striper

NJfreediver was just there the other day and got a 25lbs striper

good luck fourth of july weekend, make sure you have a flag on your float, they are f****ing crazy there that weekend

I think the crack of dawn would be best. That jetty gets alot of foot traffic, especially the busiest weekend of the year for NJ.

I agree early morning is the best or later dusk, just watch for the die hard rod and reel fishermen that get there at like 3am

stripers are kinda slim pickins now. the big ones have pretty much moved on. If you're dead set on going that weekend, take the advice and go early or late. Boat traffic will suck. When you get here hit me up and I'll join you. There are a few other spots as well close by
