Fort Lauderdale Late Afternoon Dive 8/4/09

Paddled out to the outside of third reef with a friend of mine I had not dove with in about 4 months. Picked a favorite spot and landed right on it. He never showed up and in the low vis and high current I figured that may happen. We had planned if this happened to each do our dives and meet at the end. The visibility was about 10' vertically and a snotty 10-20' HZ. The lousy low 70's temps are back and the current was ripping north.

I landed on a coral head full of antennas... Too bad I was a day early... I saw many more bugs throughout the dive. Fish were thick all through the dive. I managed 5 nice hogs a 24"mutton and a porgy and passed on a decent yellow jack at the end of the dive due to a shark meandering around my area. Had a nice paddle in with none of the usual dark clouds and lightning out west threatening the coast... Good stuff.
