You fail to miss the point. the Libs are all in favor of political discourse as LONG AS it's NOT directed at them!

The bulk of the current healthcare political discourse is coming from mainstreet America good ole working class
evil conservatives who really shouldn't be allowed a voice or a vote because they (we) are so darned evil!

Thats the problem with American politics of late and its both parties. Imagine what could get done if they were able to talk with one another and reach consensus on issues.

Re: Listen To Nancy in 2006

Problem...or solution...depending on your political persuation, they HAVE a consensus. They (the Dems) can pass any legislation, any time without a single Rep vote.
but yet healthcare ISN'T passing..so why do you suppose that is? Could it be the "handful" of "Paid malcontents" that the media and the messiah would have you believe or is it possibly that roughly 70% of Americans are perfectly happy with thier current healtcare solution.

Are there flaws...SURE...problem is, if 70+% of Americans are happy so why is there such a tremendous and urgent need to revamp the entire healthcare system?

Yes...I've read where there's an average of 75% of the population that does not want nationalized health care. Yet, Mr. transparent is trying to shove this obamanation of a 1000+ pages of 'health reform' bill thru when none of our elected Representatives have read it, considered the ramifications of it,, or anything...but we are all gonna die if it doesn't get passed tomorrow!

75%.....hmmmm...wonder were they get those numbers from. Polls are a bunch of BS! The one thing I learned from statistics was that if you know what you want your outcome to be, just find the right demographics. Can you say middle class white america!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking either side on this one. Politics is like religon, either side is never happy when the finger is being pointed at them.

Re: Listen To Nancy in 2006

Very convenient...very, very convenient, "we" act on statistics when they indicate an action we want to be "statitically favorable" and when the statistics are against "our" plan or desires we simply say "well, statistics lie"

I'd say IF statistics lie Obama is one HUGE statistic

Fun people alway say that when the number are not on there side. Check all the polls. Huge numbers of people are happy with there health care. Not just white people, you must be a racist or something. I am Cuban why cant I be happy with my healthcare?

[quote=a.s.alvarez;1022747]Fun people...

Thanks! People have always said I'm fun.

As for the racist part. I have no idea where you got that one from. I was just stating that if you polled a predominately Caucasian middle class suburban area versus a poor rural area that is made up of mostly minorities you would probably attain 2 different results. Like say if you were a dem you'd pick to poll the poor, as the outcome would be in your favor. And vise versa for a republican. I'm not saying all minorities are poor or all white people are well to do. Just stating that most people who work low income jobs probably have little or any health care at all versus people working at decent companies, earning good salaries, and receiving descent health care from employers or are able to afford coverage. So don't play the race card with me! Just making an educated statement about how statistics can be biased. It just depends on which side of the fence you are sitting on.

Billybob... looks like you thought I was pointing a finger at you. You kinda backed up what I had to say about getting your panties in a bunch over what opposing views have to say. As I stated earlier, I wasn't taking sides (Dem/Rep/Lib/Cons) just stating "Don't believe everything you read"
Politics suck! It keeps us separated and constantly sort of like religion. Now there's a can of worms!

Re: Listen To Nancy in 2006

Here low income persons, indigents & illegals get better health care that I do. If they develop a cough, its off to the local emergency room or trauma care center, where they receive immediate care while I sit at the desk filling out paper work as my arm bleeds all over the floor. "You had better put some pressure on that" I was told. Now our rates are going to be raised to pay for better care for 30 million illegal immigrants. If they were refused care, they would go home & trauma centers across the country would not be broke. My workers comp rates have doubled because of illegal immigrant deaths on the job. They don't understand English. I am not against immigration, we just cannot support them all.
Also, I wonder why I don't hear tort reform any more?
As for pelosi, she has an octagon shaped head with 8 faces. As you are approached, you can hear her spinning that head to find the appropriate face.
Our country is in dire straits when elected legislators disregard the opinions of the people that elected them & pursue a personal agenda.
As for pelosi, @#!$^%(*&()_^&$#
Also has anyone else noticed how many members of the 111th congress look like rats? Geitner, Waxman, pelosi, etc., etc.

Re: Listen To Nancy in 2006

I was mearly pointing out that it's a bit hypocritical to believe statistics that one likes and refute the statistics that one dislikes...I've had statistics in college (with an abacus) and the ONLY thing I remember about statistics is they ALWAYS lie!
Personally, from my own anticdotal analysis, my "statistics" , if we leave out illegal aliens, shows that the number 75% that Marcus quoted is indeed a lie...it's much higher...based on MY "statistics"[quote=Killing Nemo;1022764]

That was my point! Statistics/polls can be hypocritical or biased. I hope you are not calling me hypoctitical though...as I stated earlier I wasn't taking sides, just merely pointing out how numbers can be arranged to provide a certain outcome favoring on side or the other.
