1. Garage sales.
2. Craigslist.
3. eBay.
4. CMonster tell him you're new. He''ll hook you right up.

Dropping a couple extra bucks at your local business, be it a dive shop or a transmission shop or the taco stand is just plain good business. It keeps your money local and it comes back to you down the road. What'd you pay for that boat trip in your avatar? ... Do everyone some justice and get your priorities straight.

Re: WTB weights

I'd definitely agree with maidendeth. I needed some weights, went in to sport chalet and saw they were selling 4# for $20. No way am I paying $5/# for a hunk of lead, so I checked out eBay, put like 15 things under my watched items and ended up with 3 - 4# weights on a belt for under $30 out the door. That would have cost me $70 before tax for that much weight and a cheap belt at a dive shop.
Just make sure you watch the shipping costs, some people have significantly better prices on shipping than others. Try searching by Price+Shipping Lowest/Highest First.

Here's a link to the weight belt section of ebay for items ending soon.

Re: WTB weights

One of those links I posted had free shipping and was like 1.50 per pound or something. If you are confident enough with the seller you should jump on that pretty quick.

Somehow a CPFV isn't a local business? Talk about being confused with your own message.

As for weights, look up Tin Man here on SB. He makes some different types, and I think he uses USPS flat rate boxes, so shipping up to 70 pounds costs like 10 bucks.

At $1.50 per, there's your new source Larry! You can melt 'em for that! Why aren't you out working on the sled??

Very true, but sometimes you just don't have the money. That being said, unless I just had more money than I knew what to do with, the markup on dive weights is obscene and there is a difference in helping out the local economy and being unwise with your money.
