So Cal Artificial Reefs

Hello,

Has anyone tried diving the artificial reefs in So Cal (Hermosa, Redondo, Bolsa Chica)? Any luck?

Bolsa Chica Artificial Reef

We dove Reef#12 of the Bolsa Chica Artificial Reef the week before last. At 90+ feet, it's too deep for freediving but it was interesting on SCUBA...but probably not interesting enough to go back.

I saw lot's of sand bass, calico bass and sheephead, but not much else. I speared a 21" sand bass, but I forgot to weigh it.
