Dear Sir or Madam,

I wanted to express my concern regarding the Palos Verdes closures proposed by maps 1 and 3. The storm drain outfall pipe is located within the northern boundary of map 1, and the current takes the drain water to the proposed map 3 closure as well. All of the pollution from the city of PVE is concentrated directly into this one pipe, which is devastating to the local ecology due to the immense amounts of pesticides and heavy metals that are in this runoff water.

It has been scientifically proven that heavy metals and pesticides are devastating to marine organisms, as well as the ability of fish to grow and even breed properly. It simply cannot be overstated the the closures proposed by maps 1 and 3 will not give the marine life in the area a chance to fully gain from an MPA.

The Terranea resort located within the closure of map 2 already has rainwater treatment wells and filters, and due to the adjacent deep water canyon of point vicente helps to keep the water in this area as clean as possible.

As a result, I fully support the closures proposed by map 2 as they are the most ecologically sound closures for this region. I thank you very much for your time.
