South OC 12/4 report need video help

Got out today with Steve to some outside kelp. We are getting a little spoiled with all of the good vis lately so it seemed poor at about 15'. Did not see any pelagics other than a small bonito, and very short WSB, but there were lots of reef fish around. Steve is a great diver and shot a couple of nice bass(pictured). I was not planning on shooting reef fish, but my dive buddy Lanny got a new camera so i decided to give it a test run and shoot a couple of fish. It is the new HD Hero cam. I recorded two videos in standard def. to test it out. The fish were shot about 50' deep and were at very close range even though it looks like they are 20' out.Does anyone know how to edit these videos? I would like to make a short compilation of fish and action shots with music so it is not so boring. Once you watch these two you will know what I am talking about! All in all another great winter day on the water.

If you have a newer computer try to find video editing software on it. My Dell laptop came with Windows Movie Maker and it works fine. Not great, just fine. I ended up buying adobe premiere and it is way better.

Lets see the videos!

Windows movie maker comes on a lot of pc's and macs have iMovie. Just import the videos when your camera is connected to the computer then mess around in the program and you should get the hang of editing. Then it will give you some options to publish the video or export and just save it to your computer then upload it onto youtube or vimeo. Try a quicktime or wmv as the file type to make it easy to put on youtube. You can make an account easily or you could even use mine if you want. Then copy the video link onto here so we can all enjoy.

Thanks Chris and Kirby for the help. I do have a question though. When uploading a video on youtube you have to pick a catagory, do you think this should go under sports or pets and animals?

You should put it under the "Southern California Freedive Spearfishing" section.

Is the camera head mounted? If so, that's sweet. You video has a much better overall presentation than the others I've seen posted. The gun mounted cameras are cool until just after the shot and from there all you see is random blurriness interupted with occassional shots of the diver and/or fish.
