Hi. All I have been trying to keep up with all the closure information and participate as much as possible. This year has been a rough one for me. Just moved back to Orange county. My buddies dad is dying of pancreatic cancer. At any rate. Where do the closures stand at this point and is there anything left for me to help with. Hopefully will be looking for some new spots in orange county soon.

I heard unconfirmed reports that the reserve that will be enacted around bird rock will allow for spearing, and spearing only of pelagics. Whether it's true or not, I don't know.

I was at the last DFG meeting in Dec. They said it may be Dec of 2010 before they make a decision. If you Search MPLA you will see the most recient
developments.

All proposals turned over to Fish & Game commision. They are going forward with the IPA, but will consider all proposals in the evaluations - EIR, etc.

Past performance indicates the IPA will be put in place..... probably with some minor changes to satisfy some of the Govs friends.....................
