Wtb 22.250

Hey, I know it's a little off topic, but I figured a lot of guys on here hunt as well. I would like to buy a 22.250 or perhaps trade for another gun, speargun or maybe a surfboard. I know it's a little bit of a long shot, but thought it may be worth it to give it a try. I live in Orange County. I would also be interested in a .243 and possibly even more interested.

Yeah, I've been usuing my 30.06 and needless to say its a little overkill and not quite as accurate as a flat shooting varmitter

Varmint hunters need accuracy, an SKS will not deliver the accuracy needed for varmint hunting.

Bass pro shops has a savage with scope for $399 or a weatherby vanguard no scope for $399.

I was just at bass pro shops the other day and looked at the Savage with the brush camo. Is that the one you are talking about or another.

I have a legacy sports catalog that I picked up at a tournament this weekend and I do agree that they have some great deals on things. I already have a Howa1500 lightning 30.06 and like it, but seeing if I can get a great deal on something used. Possibly even trade a shotgun or rifle of my own to get a new one.

The Savage Predator is a nice "walking" predator/varmint rifle. medium Heavy Barrel, very accurate. a good value.

I still like my 700's though...

I would recommend the .243. I like it a lot better than the 22-250. I reload my own rounds. So, my gun is pretty dialed. I have a Savage Low Profile Varmiter. I can place 3" groups at 500yards with it. It has the bull barrel and the Accu-trigger. I added a custom muzzle compensator to minimize any felt recoil. Actually, there is none now. Because I live in Calif. I have to use solid copper bullets (no lead allowed for hunting). So, I load Barnes TSX bullets. I can easily take down a nice sized deer with it. Or blow holes in squirrels at 300+ yrds. Here are a few pics of my toy. I will warn you that this setup was not cheap.
