Re: Line tangle help!! Salvimar 115

Usually it is a good idea to simplify things as much as possible. Breakaway is only needed if you are targeting very large strong fish that you don't want to be personally connected to after you hit...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

I would remove any prongs that are not needed ... usually one side is not needed. I would then reduce and sand off the remaining prong to where it just barely holds the shooting line. You don't...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

Elevating the bands keeps shaft flying straight and reduces the dreaded back lift that the wishbones can impart on the tail of the shaft ... which can destabilize a shaft. This gives much better...

Re: Line tangle help!! Salvimar 115

Way too many things going on there! Why do you have a reel with clip connected if you are using a break away? Try and simplify things as much as possible. I would remove the reel and just have...

Re: Riffe No Ka Oi Muzzle Flip after adding Neptonics Ballast

I made a 3 part video on Youtube where I go into detail of why some guns shoot low or shoot left, and I also go into how in hundreds of hours of pool testing I managed to find solutions. I must have...

Re: Carbon stringers: do they add anything?

Good carbide cuts CF pretty easily so long that the epoxy is properly cured (hard). I would be wary of the dust though as CF dust can be a bitch if it gets out. I would get good proper shop vac...

Re: Riffe No Ka Oi Muzzle Flip after adding Neptonics Ballast

I agree 100% with NaCl ... you need to know where your shots are going and how your setup is grouping the shots. Just a few shots in a controlled environment can make a huge difference.

Re: Riffe No Ka Oi Muzzle Flip after adding Neptonics Ballast

Yes that overhang is way too much unless you have a specific reason you want that. Long overhang will only exacerbate low shots and increases shaft oscillation (which reduces accuracy and dissipates...

Re: Mythicon Erevos fail to latch shaft

A while back I drew up in 3D exact dimensions of about 20 different shaft tangs to help Mario from Ermessub make sure there would be no compatibility issues with any shafts (including American Cut...

Re: Mythicon Erevos fail to latch shaft

If you could take the trigger out completely and take good quality close up pictures then maybe can have a better idea of what is happening. Also ... did this happen all of a sudden or was this non...

Re: Riffe No Ka Oi Muzzle Flip after adding Neptonics Ballast

Unfortunately that gun has a low handle and that will exaggerate muzzle flip as you power it up. The best way to improve things is to simply reduce the power ... you just sacrifice power for...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

Yes ... actually in testing the 7.5mm shafts at say 150cm to 160cm with say 130cm band stretch and just 2 x 14.5mm bands ... had incredible performance and much better than 8mm shaft. If I remember...

Re: Best dyneema line?

I think the Salvimar line is dyneema inside with a non dyneema sheathe outside ... so the 1.8mm is actually only about 1mm of dyneema. Best is to use stiff specta which has a lot more material as it...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

Well the plan was to make it possible for anyone to make a cheap, yet highly effective and accurate speargun with very little effort. Originally I wanted to use the Pathos D1 handle and put a custom...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

A very cheap and very functional option would be just to add a flotation sleeve on a pipe. This sleeve could have hooks and connections to reel or other roller systems. Would also allow for heavier...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

With 8mm shaft ... for sure a carbon fiber pipe is very useful in absorbing the extra weight of the shaft. The Cuttlefish shape adds more lift as there is more air space. There are quite a few...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

The 9mm is the depth of cut taken by the software to get a cross sectional analysis of active parts. This gives you a good picture of how everything will interact together.

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

Actually american cut shafts work perfectly well and maybe even better than euro shafts on a DR trigger. On the standard DR trigger there is just enough wiggle room where you can soak up the extra...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

All back rollers are 7mm diameter. You could get away with a 6.75mm roller if using american cut, but you really have to make sure that whatever tolerances are built in there don't add up and thus...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

I think I posted this a while back ... with the DR trigger it really can work either euro or american cut shafts ... the problem is not the trigger but rather the design of the shafts themselves. ...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

Yes that is the trigger I remember. The sear shaft rollers are a little smaller though. This project started off by trying to "fix" the MVD trigger that was originally on there ... but for me that...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

I really didn't try that but in the original beta version the tolerances were very tight that even some euro shafts did not fit properly. So there was tolerance added to make it fit all tested Euro...

Re: Ermes Avatar speargun handle

Hmmm ... actually the Huntmaster name seems very familiar and remember seeing and working on a project for a trigger for them. I think they are based in Australia and if I remember correctly Mario...
