Dano Love your gear. But on the roller gun, do you not tie in a second loop to grab onto to pull back and load? On my 100cm roller I can load it with no load assist just as fast and as easy as a conventional. GR at Redtide Spearfishing has a bunch of double looped bridles with pvc tubing around the dyneema that makes it very easy to grab and pull. If you are not I highly suggest trying it unless you have already tested it and decided it was no good for you.
