flopper holder

I've adjusted my gopro mount so that the gun is almost out of the frame. Now I'm mostly left with the flopper hanging down in the top middle of the screen.

I'm contemplating some way of holding the flopper against the shaft, while obviously not preventing it from deploying after the shot. I'm using a standard RA shaft.

Any ideas? Will a simple rubber band do the job?

Thanks.

Or use an o-ring, that's how a lot of Europeans do it. It slides right back as you spear a fish, but place it on the end of the flopper.

Anyone noticed an increase in incidence of flopper not deploying when configuring the shaft like this?

Just one thing to check first . . .

Some manufacturers put the flopper pin slightly off center in the shaft to help the flopper lay more cleanly against the shaft and make everything more streamlined. I like that. BUT, it does mean that if you flip the flopper from the way it was installed, it may not lay as cleanly. Just something to check before you start grinding and cutting.

That is how all my shafts are configured... works great. Never had an issue... Just make sure you keep them tuned.

Same here flopper on top & tuned. Never had a fish pull off. Accuracy and range greatly improved too.
