Fish Report: Older Man Bill does it again, yft.

Something must be said about experience when it comes to Bill (Norton) and diving. Last month he was 77 and shooting bft, this month he's 78 and shooting yft!

We went out yesterday along with Jesus in my C Hawk. Conditions were really nice but fish were meager. We weren't out at Tanner for big ones but still did our best. Bill shot this yft when finback whales, sea lions, and the tuna had some bait balled up. This is the second time we've seen the whales feeding on fin bait. Awesome sight!

We had a good day and came back by dinner time. And yes, Bill put the fish on the boat. And thank you to Jesus too, diving in the blue. Best, Mike L.

sorry to have missed the trip Mike, looks like killer conditions. I caught the finbacks and tuna all mixed up last month it was a pretty amazing experience. The things we get to see and do!

I'll have to get out and get some of that Bill inspiration. What a stud!

Y’all quick to assume its species. Did you ever stop to think about how it identifies?

Oh my goodness yes it is bft. In our defense, or my defense, I've been running the boat for the last four trips and I've only been in the water twice for about two minutes shooting one yt off a paddy. Team effort and being safe. We had some small fish in the warmer water boiling and they appeared to be yft and then Bill shot this one. And then when it was boated and I was running the boat I look over my shoulder and nobody had bothered to put the fish in one of the three fish bags on the boat or the two coolers! I did poke it when it came over the side.....Hilarious! I was preoccupied trying to get us on some good fish. So be it.

And lobster this next week. How time flies.

Re: Fish Report: Older Man Bill does it again, yft.

I had it bad this tuna season!

I went on 5 tuna hunts and only saw the fish once. However on that one sighting, before I could jump in the water, the captain ran over the school. Poor hook and line guys couldn't cast far enough and so, that was that!

Lobster season is where its at for me!
