I'm really not that clever, but maybe I should look a bit closer when I can make the bottom, might just find more treasure.

What'd you shoot! I couldn't find anything worthy with all the thick clouds of elusive and endangered red snapper.

Re: Found: 1 Riffe speargun

couple weeks ago a friend of mine, Keith, lost a Riffe with a reel on it with out the shaft on one of the deep grand isle rigs, dont know how far it could have floated before sinking. not sure what it was maybe a standard # 3 or # 4

yeah i dont blame you, it was alot rougher than NOAA predicted. in a 28ft pro Kat we were only doin 15mph max or we'd get beat. ride back was pretty good as we had the waves going in our direction, we were able to do 28mph easy

Thanks for posting the info about Riffe's sinking with 48 hours time in water.
I've been preaching otherwise.

Re: Found: 1 Riffe speargun

It would be hillarious if you found mine. I lost it like 6 years ago on a rig off Texas. It was a Riffe Bottom, the spear was in the gun when I dropped it in deep water (170ft). I forget the rig number, but it was out of Port O'Connor. Let me know if it's a Riffe Bottom....
