Re: Beach Vis

still crap in wabasso north... algae growth... I went to wpb sunday and the water was clear but I have not been down there so I could not find anything good off the beach. went offshore yesterday (monday) out of sebastian inlet and the water got clear (blue)at 160-180. the rest was greenish and not much vis (5-10ft). got a few rainbow runners and a big scamp.

Re: Beach Vis

went to ft. lauderdale beach yesterday and found the 1st reef but no fish. then we headed north to vista park dropped in the yaks and headed offshore. We skipped the first reef and went straight to the 2nd. Alot more life but still no shootable fish. Anyone know where all the fish are?? maybe the 3rd reefline??

6-1-09: House of Refuge...Vis + - 10' with a chilly, algae-crap layer on the bottom. Saw another team of spearos looking for the wreck in the wrong place... I wonder how they did and if they are on the board??

Re: Beach Vis

we were at the house of refuge on 6/1.. My first time diving out there and just swam out where i saw reef from the beach. I swam straight into what was definitely a wreck but not a very big/productive spot.

Shcubasteve: My friend said he spoke to you guys and you said I was at the wrong spot.. I was definitely on a wreck, is there another one out there?

Vis was great further out +-20, got a sheepshead and good size spanish mack. Saw a tarpon and some snook as well.

More importantly on the swim back in there were some models doing a topless shoot

Re: Beach Vis

6-9-09: BathTub Reef: 20'+. Very nice conditions today! Even got a shot off on a sweet mutton in 5' of water, but all I got was a cloud of scales. Checkout the creature footage from today.

Moray b: Nude models is right! They changed right in front of us! Maybe you all were on the right spot... what type of bottom were you on? the wreck looks like a dugout canoe turned up on its side standing15' off the bottom ... for some reason I thought it was further north and closer to shore then where you were... Could be wrong.

Re: Beach Vis

Schcubasteve:

The bottom we were on was definitely a wreck and you could clearly see the ribs of what looked like a massive dug out canoe.. At the south end there is something that sticks up above the rest of the wreck about 7' or so..

When you going out again?

Re: Beach Vis

6-11-2009:: I went down to south beach in Ft Pierce in the afternoon (yesterday) and the water looked really nice and clear. South beach is not normally the greatest viz so if it looks good there, its normally great in other nearby spots.
