"Hey you, I'm coming in with you"

Bucket, thanks again for that quote. It's come in very handy. You have no idea how many times I've said it over the past week. Here are some of the results.

We were freediving off Jupiter, cold water, bad viz (72 degrees, 20 feet).....yeah, I know, it's all relative. I call that freezing, but it is beginning to bring the groupers and cobias in, so I'm not complaining....too much.

We went out of Jupiter again a couple days ago. I saw the most humongous, gargantuan manta ray I've ever seen. It was so huge, it looked like a big black blanket coming towards me. I've gotta admit, I started back pedaling. Chad, on the other hand, swam over to it and went for a ride. It made Chad look small. I didn't know those really big ones were around Florida. Pretty cool.

No, these cobias were not riding the manta ray. Chad shot his from a school that swam by (only had a shot at the smallest in the school), and I shot mine also out of another school of cobias (had time to pick out the biggest).

And lastly, this is kind of an interesting picture for looking at the differences betweet a cubera and dog snapper. Or am I the only one that gets confused? Anyway, the cubera is not that big compared to how big they get, but I think the dog is pretty big for a dog. I thought Chad was going to give me a hard time that it wasn't a clean head shot, but his only comment was, "Wow, big dog."

Just got to look for the Steven Tylor tear drop to know it's a dog. I like how Cubera look like giant Greys when they are dead for a while. Many people at the fish cleaning tables, think they are the biggest Mangroves they have ever seen. Are those 30-32"?

Sheri,
Such nice fish, as usual, but how can you complain about the water temperature?

The tear drop on the dog.....do you mean that triangle looking thing under the eye? I've also heard they have an hour-glass shape thing on the roof of their mouth. I think I can tell them apart just by looking at the shape and color of them now. You're right, a dead cubera looks like a giant gray.

Yes, that was exactly the sizes. Good guess. I was really straining just to hold them up. In other words, I couldn't do that picture trick. You know, hold them straight out in front of the camera to make them look giant. Need to work on my weight lifting a little more.

Hey Stan-O,

I noticed them boots, too. Nothings better than a good pair of cajun reboks with some shapely legs sticking out the top.
