Re: Moana Waterman vs.. BlackTech CST Competition Carbon Fins
I too have been through an un reasonable number of fins, partially because I have to know what I'm talking about, want to sell the right stuff, etc...but also has a lot to do with me just being a gear junkie LOL! But regarding the question the OP has asked, in my experience and more importantly, the feedback of a lot of customers the answer would be Moana in both cases. I have had very little experience with the Blacktech blades however, and none and at all with their newest generation

I've seen their site before but never had any first hand feedback, would love to hear a review of those as well.

Re: Moana Waterman vs.. BlackTech CST Competition Carbon Fins
I have Moana Euro and absolutely love them. You can really dive hard multiple days without getting tired legs. I still and will always keep a pair of DiveR's though. I switched from Medium to Soft DiveR carbons in Pathos pockets and they are really enjoyable. While I'm sure every brand can and will break I'd think there is a pretty good consensus that DiveR's durability is at the top.
If I have to swim against a lot of current on the surface the DiveR's are going to be on my feet. If I'm drift diving with the boat and mostly up and down, the Moana Euros are much better. I treat them like guns and switch when necessary. For info I'm 190 and dive the med/soft Euro |

Are the Moana mediums stiffer than the DiveR mediums?

Yes. Moana medium are stiffer than DiveR. This is for the long blades not the new euro style which is a shorter blade and much softer.

Re: Moana Waterman vs.. BlackTech CST Competition Carbon Fins
Ive got cetmas... had some mythicons in pathos footpockets. Longer than normal blade, amazing feel for a soft blade... makes my diving less strenuous, and lets me hit deeper faster.
They are on to something. |

Thanks for the feedback! Do you have their pockets as well? How is the foot pocket sizing on them?

Looks like something the industry really needed. I've been baffled by some of the utter crap that dive companies continue to pump out because it kind of works and buyers don't know any better, especially with foot pockets. |

Contact them directly they're happy to answer.. But they should really have this info on the site. They did say you need to be specific with sizing as the s-wing pocket has less give then you're average craptastic unsupportive energy wasting foot pocket.
