Re: Keaton beach/steinhatchee shallow dive spots (help)

Check out Seahags webpage. Its packed with numbers. As a recommendation: the White City Bridge is an awesome and fun dive. Plenty to see and shoot at. As always and anywhere, be aware of your...

Re: Diving off Keaton Beach

Buckeye is huge, spread out with a lot of fish. You should enjoy that area. I believe the crane wreck numbers are on Seahags web page along with a host of other numbers.

Re: Diving off Keaton Beach

No, not by that name anyway. There is one in that area called the train wreck by some local guides. I have asked around for the location but no one was willing to talk about it. You can hit the...

Re: Out of JP 5-12-19

I had an invite to do some hunting on 80 acres up there but they logged it and I wasn't too crazy about driving all the way up there on a slim chance of getting a deer and maybe one with FWD.
Hope...

Re: Fish Finder Advice

Just my opinion but I have three units on my dash. The Humminbird and Lorance that feature sideshooting are without a doubt the best. I have located structure that I had no idea was there even after...

Re: Eat'n sharks

We do a lot of shark fishing around Cedar Key and Steinhatchee. The areas are loaded with them and are great sport. We do eat them and have a way of preparing them that might be of interest.
Some...

Re: 36" Cobia minimum size proposed - thoughts?

The panhandle of Florida has seen some monsters showing up in good numbers. I've had several friends say that 60 plus pounders are the norm.
I've recently been on wrecks with numbers of them...

Re: Scuba incident/accident/Rescue via USCG Florida Middle Grounds 08/16/2018

I had the good fortune to have recruited a good dive trainer. He covered this in class as an uncontrolled accent. Turn fin up, head down and kick like heck to control the rate of accent.
Never had...

Re: Anybody been to the MG recently?

Commercial fisherman friend of mine went out to the mg last week and said that it was almost a wasted trip. Too many sharks and had more productive numbers in closer.

Re: Sharks in the Gulf

In October, you don't want to be anywhere near the barge west of cedar key. They stack up just before their southward migration. If you get out there, bring a light and hunt the south end which is...

Re: Sharks in the Gulf

Tigers are fair game in federal waters IF you have your HMS permit and the shark permit that is free right now. Sand tigers are totally off the list.
Tigers, in my opinion are not that good eating....

Re: Sharks in the Gulf

I don't recommend my course of action to anyone. It was a calculated decision that I put a lot of thought into. I didn't see the need to make my bride a widow just to go and spear a fish or two. I'm...

Re: Sharks in the Gulf

I dove in the Cedar Key to Steinhatchee areas and got tired of fending off sharks. Took all the joy out of diving. Sold all of my gear to a member of the board and haven't looked back. I still fish...

The way it was told to me is that in a bad storm in 2008, this tug went down. It took the lives of several crew. The captain faced charges but was exonerated after board reviewed the case. What...

Re: Anyone out of Gainesville fl going to cedar key/steinhatchee?

Well, we made it out and had a great time. Seas were dead flat, like a mill pond all day. We made it to the 17 mile shrimp boat wreck and had top to bottom vis in 40 fsw. Looked like an aquarium. ...
