Re: new to the ocean, but not to spearfishing

You're leagues ahead of most guys when they start here. Being eaten is waaaaaay down the list of dangerous things you should worry about. The conditions you described (ice, logs, nets, etc.) are...

Re: Long Lost Chumash Island

The "5 miles from shore" fact wasn't based on Indian folklore. It's based on sea level drop during the Ice Age which was about 10,000 years ago. The video Beau linked (third video here...

Re: Long Lost Chumash Island

I am pretty confident that the La Janelle (http://www.cawreckdivers.org/Wrecks/La%20Janell.htm) artificial reef was not an island 15000 years ago.

Re: Kooks depopulating reefs for the hell of it

Let me get this straight. You got upset over the way some guys were (legally) fishing a beginner spot. Then, instead of talking to them you come to Spearboard to complain. If that isn't the...

Re: California Spearos Lost and Found

Bummer, dude. I lost my last three wetsuits. Can't figure out how I kept slipping out of them. Now I never dive without a suit leash.
