Re: Starvation Reservoir management plan.

Starvation does not have a surplus of forage fish, the walleye pretty much clean it out annually. As much as I'd like to chase wipers in there I do not think it would make sense from a ecological...

Re: Ulusub

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 11/32 around 8.73mm? Do you think that the 8.5 is a little too heavy for 3 x 14.5mm bands or was it just a typo

Re: First build.

There are builders here with way more experience than me so hopefully they will chime in, but I've had good luck shooting for around an average specific gravity on the blank at around .75-.8...

Re: First build.

Just a thought, but you had some ipe right? If it were me I'd do a horizontal laminate on the top or both the top and bottom with ipe. You will have a larger blank, but having more to play with is a...

Re: New Member Introduction - Idaho and Utah

One other thing, I assumed you were Freediving. That is my bad if not, when it comes to tank diving there are much more knowledgeable guys than me on that topic and you should ignore my suit...

Re: New Member Introduction - Idaho and Utah

We do have a decent number of lakes we can spearfish in with good numbers of quality fish, but I'm unaware of any hot springs being closed down

Re: New Member Introduction - Idaho and Utah

Did you take the dive Addicts Freediving class at the crater? If so good on you, I suggest that for everyone. It will cut the learning curve by years and make you a much safer diver. I get cold...

Re: New Member Introduction - Idaho and Utah

Hello, the freshwater section is pretty much dead in the winter time but will pick up once the lakes thaw and warm a little. As far as suits I'm assuming Idaho and utah have similar water Temps so I...

Re: Looking for shafts

I should have been more specific, a shaft in the 110-120 range. It's for a short roller build

Looking for shafts

Does anyone know where I could get my hands on a 7.5mm euro shaft in the 110-120cm range with a pencil tip here in the US without custom ordering it? Thanks

Re: Abellan Denton 140 review and pool testing

Walleye are amazing eating, and about the most fun hunting this freshwater can provide. I grew up making self bows and have a good hotbed for steaming/drying bows but I've been hesitate to use it....

Re: Abellan Denton 140 review and pool testing

Hehe, it is a walleye. I'm up in Utah. Thanks for the finishing tips, I did that on my last couple, I think I'm going to go matte on this one, super gloss looks beautiful until it's bounced in the...

Re: Abellan Denton 140 review and pool testing

The gun is done, we'll mostly. I'm not happy with the finish, it's epoxy coated but the temp here hasn't got above freezing in awhile, no matter how much heat I blast the epoxy won't self level...

Re: Abellan Denton 140 review and pool testing

I've enjoyed this thread immensely, just curious but has anyone tested the shaft speed difference between a shallow open track vs a deep open? We all know the enclosed track robs energy, but I am...

Re: Shore diving mexico

Thank you for the posts, how is access to Isla Mujeres? Can I bring a speargun? Any preserves I should know about? And can I find good reef from the shore? Thanks again in advance

Re: Spearfishing the Colorado River

You might want to check the cali regs, but I'm willing to bet catfish are a no go on spearing. Freshwater spearing in Arizona and Nevada are non game fish only, ie carp and stripers. I've dove the...

Thanks for the tip, I've dove San Carlos once around December and it was pretty slow and I'd really like to try somewhere new, but I might be down to give it another go. If you could send a pm with...

Shore diving mexico

Looking to book a honeymoon in Mexico for the beginning of March, haven't decided where yet but I would love to get some diving in. I'm open to suggestions on where a good place to go where I can get...

Re: anyone tried mvd inverted roller muzzle?

Thanks for your post, only thing is the inverted roller will still have the same shaft acceleration distance due to the 2:1 mechanical advantage of the pulleys requiring 2X the distance to stretch...

Re: anyone tried mvd inverted roller muzzle?

I know this thread is getting a little old, but I'm considering doing a roller upgrade on a RA80. I was very interested in the inverted roller setup but got to thinking about the mechanical...

Re: 42 in Padauk

To the OP, I've had a slice of what looked like the straighest grain padauk in the world, but ripped it anyway just on general principle. The lams looked like I threw a pile of spaghetti on the work...
