Re: Abellan gun mount options

Easiest solution, and valid for every gun with a reel, is to sandwitch a piece of carbon fiber between the reel and the gun (may need to use longer screws) that sticks to the whichever side you want...

Re: RIFFE Marauder speargun

While I don't like those designs at all, I should say that this recall notice says A LOT about this company. I wish all companies would behave like Riffe does.

Re: 19mm small id

I don't know about 19mm... but the Cressi Sub Navy Pure (18mm) works great and has a 2,5mm ID. It is sold in 3m lengths so you can cut to whichever size you need.

Do you have any local dealer who...

Re: A new batch is born

While I don't like the midhandles, I have to admit the craftmanship is aaaaaawesome (as usual).

That reel reminds me of the latest versions of the PS Dive reels here in Spain, but they make ...

Re: New Guns for 2022

I was thinking about using glitter from a craft shop (or just stealing some from my daugther when she is not looking) and see how it goes. I don't want big clumps of it... just a few touches here and...

Re: BRAINSTORMING AND TIPS: Foam/light timber cored CF skinned gun

You just nailed it! That's exactly what I want to do, that's why I was focusing in lightweight cores.

That would be the perfect aproach for a production run but I don't think I could justify to...

Re: BRAINSTORMING AND TIPS: Foam/light timber cored CF skinned gun

What do you mean by HYBRID? I have seen wood/carbon guns that I didn't really like much, besides, a lathe seems mandatory to be able to turn ID's to mix and match between timber and the CF tube.

Re: BRAINSTORMING AND TIPS: Foam/light timber cored CF skinned gun

I heard horror stories about chineese manufacturers and carbon tubes... ID not fitting specifications (son handles and muzzles wouldn't fit), crappy finish... etc.

Besides, I am looking for a DIY...

Re: BRAINSTORMING AND TIPS: Foam/light timber cored CF skinned gun

True, using a working CF pipe gun as a base to build from would be a good idea but I am more after making a whole gun from the ground up.

I am also not looking to power up an existing gun...

Re: BRAINSTORMING AND TIPS: Foam/light timber cored CF skinned gun

Feels like Spearboard has been a bit down lately... so time to bring up the discussions!

I am certain about this. Not only to keep it straight, but to have something to screw into whatever needs...

Re: BRAINSTORMING AND TIPS: Foam/light timber cored CF skinned gun

I have all the threads in Spearboard regarding CF skinning well studied, and actually the one that Pete has linked in his last post is the one which inpsired me to go this route.

Regarding the...

BRAINSTORMING AND TIPS: Foam/light timber cored CF skinned gun

Hello all,

I started making timber guns a few years ago and by my second gun I was already messing with CF and vacum systems. Nowdays I spend more time CF skinning and finishing other peoples...

Re: 3D Printed Speargun

Handle looks good, muzzle... not so much! But I understand an inverter requires to have the pulleys and all that if you want to pack any power within such a small package.

Keep up the good work!

Re: Carbon fins care & preventative measures.

Old thread but worth mentioning....

Fins usually start chiping at the edge because you bang it on rocks. If a crack develops and starts running up the blade, the whole thing is toast.

What I do...

Re: attaching line to the rest tab?

There are several benefits to this.

The first one is that it puts the line away from the rubber band briddle, so getting it tangled is less likely. Important if you use tangling-prone line.

Re: Gladiator Bestiarius 100 invert rollers

I don't get it... Do you pre-drill, smear the screw with epoxy, screw it in and take it out to let it cure...???

Because my understanding is that if you leave the screw in while the it cures, the...
