Mg 08-12-2022
Had been looking for several days at the weather and sea forecasts. We decided Friday was the day. Well, it turned out to be a little "sporty" by the time we got out there. Both teams of two got a few dives in before the winds picked up and the storms started chasing us back to shore. Whole time we dove, it was overcast. Like diving right after the sun has set. We managed to get some nice MG size hogs, gags, red grouper, goes. Bottom temp. was 81F.-83F.. Horz. vis. 10'-15'.. Of course, everyone saw " the biggest ARS of this year" during one of their dives. Like they know it's closed season. I had one swim by broadside within 3' about 5 times on one dive. As usual, a few sharks were seen. Gene, had one that must of been real hungry. It wouldn't leave him alone . Of course he was the only one without a Shark Shield. Finally, after countless times of poking. Gene gave the shark a "headache" to get rid of him .

What area of the grounds did you dive? North, South, East, West, Central? We are going next Saturday?

Kevin, we dove the central area only. We had planned on working our way back down during the day. Didn't happen due to building seas and storms. All in all, we did pretty good for a few dives. Full dark cloud cover didn't help the vis at all. Good luck next Saturday.

Gene told me his dive buddy Yang weighed his biggest hog gutted at 17 pounds. Probably, the hog missing a lot scales near the tail.

Jose had this great idea - get a cookie sheet/oven sheet pan that is the same height as the vacuum sealer's input slot and this improves the sealing and efficiency of the sealing.

Forgot to mention that around 60' there's a slight thermal. Nothing major.
