Kayak hatch DIY
So I purchased a kayak for next to nothing, but it didn't have rudder or covers..
I got the rudder for 26$ on aliexpress and here is how I made the hatches. It's a common problem. i hope this helps someone.

Re: Kayak hatch DIY
Your covers came out nice! It's sturdy and light. I was planning to make a custom bucket out of fiberglass to sit in the kayak storage compartments so things don't slide to unreachable areas. I'm still thinking about the design, but you gave me good ideas.

Quote:
PVC welders and consumables (you could even cut strips from leftover sheet) are cheap and readily available in Aliexpress for example. Great job!!! |

Re: Kayak hatch DIY
I have the kayak I took from Miami to Montreal in 2011 that has a hole in it because of frozen water (darn). I'll try the welding technique on it!
