Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Oof. Absolutely terrible in NH today in a spot that is never under 8. Probably 3 feet, I couldn't see the end of my gun. I forgot my fins so I kept it to a 20 foot depth or so but it was a huge waste of time. There were a bunch of birds working bait, though, so I bet they were out there.

9am high tide at sachusest. the reef is so, so - pockets of about 10ft mixed with total darkness, the rest is CRAP.
saw a HUMONGOUS EEL on the reef. too bad it was in a hole between rocks.

Vis at Fort Adams today was about 3-4 feet. Didn't see too many fish but saw quite a few good size lobster.

Mount hope bay cleared up a LOT. Easily 6 feet with places pushing 8. Didn't see any fish but didn't dive for long. Left my damn fins at home, will I be okay w/o booties in Newport tomorrow? I have a pair of $20 POS fins but they only fit when I'm not wearing anything on my feet. The bay was fine but I don't know how much different the ocean side is, NH is freezing.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

That water was completely comfortable without booties and seemed to be well above 60, but maybe it wasnt. Vis was very location dependent, with dirty spots a 4-5 and then spots with 8. West of PJ.

Shot two 18" tautog today. I don't know what the rule of graphic pictures is, but if these should not be posted I understand. Unfortunately the pictures of them whole didnt save.

We had 10-12' at Fishers yesterday at dead high, outgoing. Very location dependent though. Temp was 61.8. Got one nice tog each then the winds kicked into high gear.

Went out Yesterday 10/10/10 over near Second beach in Newport. Vis was terrible 3 ft.

Went out today over near Kings beach the waves were much small than the previous day and the vis cleared up to about 8-10 ft. Shot 2 togs and one big trigger.

Anyways, saturday had 25 feet visibility at Old Reef on incoming. Watch hill and fishers island had between 8 to 15 feet and like Stripey said it was very location dependent.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Dove Rye, NH around noon and there was nothing to be found. I'm calling it quits for NH this season, hopefully I'll get back to RI for a few more dives before it shuts down too. Vis was an expected 15ft+.
