The Club had a vote to extend the rodeo to four days since this is going to be the 55th annual Hell Divers!! Ps. This year we will be hosting the Rodeo at the world famous Venice Marina and plan to throw a serious ****ing party!! Hope to see you there!!

i can't make it this year but i'm planning on doing the HD again. this is one of the coolest spearfishing tournament on the planet.

This year is going to be the 55th Annual Hell Divers Rodeo which will be held at Venice Marina on may 30- June 2.

The weigh in, awards ceremony and party will be held that Saturday night June 2.

We will have a fishing and diving category this year.

Fish categories will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and will include:

Speckled trout
Redfish
mangrove snapper
Red snapper

Dive categories will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and include:

Red and mangrove snapper
Grouper
Barracuda
Cobia
Jack fish
Sheepshead
Triggerfish
Stingray
Miscellaneous
Amberjack

There will be a master board, Freediving board, fishing board and a blue water board with prizes for king, Boat, club, first second and third places.

We will also have a band, coushon de lait, and plenty of cold beverages.

All though we plan on having a lot of fun this year at the rodeo, through its activities, donations from friends, and sponsors we support the following causes with the proceeds:

The Warren J. Mermilliod Scholarship Fund- The only scholarship offered at LSU in the Marine Biology Master’s Program

The Blake Terry MemorialFoundation- A non-profit organization formed as a search and rescue fund for recreational divers. They also provide free resources detailing the proper procedures for taking action in the event of a lost diver.

The “Gulf Artificial Habitat Fund”- An effect by the Louisiana Council of Underwater Dive Clubs that stands as the first line of defense in protecting and raising awareness of the removal of vital artificial reefs in the Gulf of Mexico and its associated devastation to the vibrant marine ecosystem.

William F. Crawford Memorial Scholarship Fund- Students awarded this scholarship in coastal engineering will have an opportunity to learn about our communities love for the coast while pursuing their own passion and education.

We are asking for sponsors and donations for our prize table at the rodeo. Your generous donation will help us to remain vigilant in our fight to preserve the viability of our sport fisheries and to insuring the continued ecologic stability of our coastal waters through research and stewardship.

The 55th Annual Hell Divers Rodeo was a success!! Huge Thanks to our Gold and Platinum Sponsors Rip Charts, Traceys, Crescent Crown, The Waypoint, and St. Bernard Veterinary Hospital!! We also need to thank Tementos, Papas Pilar, Gulf Coast Aqua Traction, Killshot Spearguns, Gootee Mechanical Construction, and Bent marine for their awesome support!!

Congratulations to Hell Diver Mark Peart for making it happen in some tough conditions to take home King Spearfisherman!! Champion skin diver was Tracey Palmisano!! and King Fisherman was Kailey J.

Best Boat was the Kraken and Best Club was the Sea Tigers!!

We had an awesome time down in Venice this year with an incredible Band (Frogs Gone Fishing), Great Food (cochon de lait by Bean with Gootee Mechanical), and all the cold beverages you could drink provided by crescent crown and Papas Pilar!!!

We really appreciate the support from all the people in our LCUDC family!! Big Thanks to the Sea Tigers, Femme Fatales, and Rigulators for making a strong showing and helping to throw down for an awesome party Saturday night!!
