individual band hole ?

I haven't been on my build for a while and getting back to it. I decided on individual holes instead of a slot because of the tools I had and it would be easier. Anyway do I need to round the edges on the holes to make them smooth or are they OK as is and will not hurt the bands while they are stretched?.

Yes, you do for the reason that you gave yourself.

Why not a round-over bit? Simplest way, can't make a mistake. They are cheap if you don't have one.

Re: individual band hole ?

Use a 1/8" round over router bit

Re: individual band hole ?

Most times I use a dremil sanding drum, but I put it in a battery drill - fits OK.

Sometimes also use a rotary rasp - also in a battery drill - but the surface is less smooth. I use the bit shaped into an elongated cone. Its a lot easier than a cylindrical or spherical one.

The advantage of these (vs router bits) is that you can make the rounded edges to the rear only - and that looks better to my eye.

In days of yore - back when I was a boy - I made my first speargun following instructions from Ben Cropp - given in his book "Handbook for Skindivers". If I remember correctly, he recommended using cloth backed sandpaper. I had strips 1/2 to 5/8 inch wide and about six inches long - put them through the hole and pulled them back and forth. This didn't look as good as using the dremil sanding drum, but it worked well enough.
