Cressi-Gara's on sale

leisure pro has them at 115 again marked down after their recent 40 dollar hike to 160 . . . *****ers. They're the stiffer ones though not the 3000's they are still 160, in case anyone was looking for new fins that aren't .5 million dollars and still well made.

Guys, www.Scubastore.com is selling the 2000HF for $80. You'll pay shipping from Spain but should still end up significantly less than Leisure pro.

http://www.scubastore.com/scuba-divi...2000-hf/3223/p

edit...just checked shipping...$65, total price $145....YEOW! Best to order a bunch of gear all at once to justify the shipping cost.

Re: Cressi-Gara's on sale

I think the price drop is because of the relationship with the € vs. $ .

I think I may pick some up when I go to Spain this summer.

Peace, Errol

Re: Cressi-Gara's on sale

Just an opinion here, but why not just spend the extra hundred and get some decent fins...fiberglass or carbon fiber? Promise you will like them better and the fiberglass ones are tough as hell so it is worth the money. The other thing is you need good pockets for thrust. You should be able to hold the fin by its heal straight out and not have the pocket fold at all. If it folds the pockets are cheap and will rob you of thrust on your kick. Grab a cressi and see how that works out.

How are the Gara Professional pockets? Do they buckle? I've tried all of the foot pockets, such as Omer, Picasso, Waterway Nemos, etc. , and they all fit terribly.

Any input on what to do?

Errol

Re: Cressi-Gara's on sale

From my personal experience the 2000HF are an excellent fin choice and I wouldn't spend the extra $ on fiberglass again. I can hardly tell the difference between my Cressi and fiberglass fins.

Carbon fiber is another story but still not really worth the $ unless you're routinely diving beyond 70'...IMO.
