And any or all of these minor differences will express themselves so differently in the unique circumstances of all handgun shootings, gun type, distance, orientation of the target, clothing, magazine capacity, etc. etc. etc., that any attempt to seriously codify a true statistical conclusion about which round is "better" is seriously suspect, and only anecdotal at best."
Nice quote. What website did you "copy and paste" this statement from? I remember reading this same statement somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it.

Re: Any Sig Sauer Owners?

me personally, if someone was pointing a gun at me i'm not gonna sit there and ponder. Hmm, I wonder if he's pointing a 9mm,40mm or 45 mm at me? I'm gonna give him whatever he wants and them i'm gonna give him some 40 mm hollow points when he's counting the cash i threw at him! I got my Fl CC permit in less than 10 days, now I just gotta have a reason to carry on me? Stays in the car, I just don't have a reason to carry it on my persons yet, maybe to wal-mart, gets kinda rough there sometimes!

Re: Any Sig Sauer Owners?

A guy told me something funny the other day and I think it is a quote from someone much more important than I.

"A 9mm may expand, but a .45 doesn't shrink!"

I like your quote alvarez but I do believe there is a "better" caliber for most situations.

Nothing makes up for shot placement, but shot placement in an active shooter scenario is not like shooting at the range. I want big holes and lots of ammo, only one caliber does both for me.

Re: Any Sig Sauer Owners?

9mm has killed a shit load of people. I have no problem with 9mm, especially with a good hollow point. The military has had problem with 9mm b/c they can only use ball ammo. 9mm modern +p hollow points make about the same energy as .45 ball. At the end of the day it comes down to what can you hit with and shot placement. I know alot of guys that have these small glock .40 and can not hit shit. They would be better off with a 9mm. And there are guys that shoot those little .40 and .45 very well, so it is a good match.

C'mon now! You know the Air Force won't let you carry any weapons. The most dangerous thing you guys have to worry about is paper cuts.

Re: Any Sig Sauer Owners?

I do like the size of hole the .40 makes compared to the 9mm.

Yeah, I thought I remembered it. I commented on it in the forum. I used to be on all of the Glock forums when I was competing (I used a Glock 35). And yes, there is some truth to the quote, but there are too many variables that have proven inconsistancies with the statement. So, I lean more to disagreeing with the statement. As a matter of a fact, I debated it with the same guy who posted that quote on Glock Talk. He could not quantify his position. He made a statement that he could not clearly prove, but instead based it on his own opinion, instead of facts. That is why he was told to get his facts straight before he opened his mouth on a topic he knew nothing about, by several of the other members.

Aaron had suggested the 1911 frame (way back) and so I looked at the Kimber and really liked them but they are not DA/SA (and I don’t like having to carry one “cocked and locked”) and even people that have owned them and loved them tell me that they can be a bit finicky when it comes to what they "eat".

That is why I keep drifting back to the Sig, or just giving up and keep carrying my 659 brick. 659 has always gone "bang" when I have pulled the trigger.

FYI, regardless of how bit their tits may be, if they have cocks, they are not girls. Hope that helps you in the future.

Re: Any Sig Sauer Owners?

I own the P229 in 9mm. My hunting rifle (30.06) is also a Sig. I'm happy with both. They are dependable and well suited for their needs.

I carry a 1911 45, cocked and locked, well usually I try to just have it Cocked in a holster with a thumbreak snap under the hammer.

I carry a Colt Combat Commander, Officers ACP or a Kimber Custom Compact, none of them are finnicky about ammo.

BTW here is a chart of one shot stops.

Another one by caliber in order of OSS
