Re: Daily Vis report thread

yes they are, my dad and I shot a few big ones last week to try out a new recipe on. they're typically considered garbage fish, but here's a website that'll show the best recipes and ways to clean/prepare "garbage fish" such as sea robins, skates, dogfish, etc. I shot a skate that same dive just to try it out as well

Viz has been good out here in montauk last couple days, even with the swell running we had decent horizontal viz off the point today.....

Nice, that's the 3rd stargazer speared this week! Interesting given that i haven't even heard of them in 5 years of spearing around here.

Must be a good number off them around by me. It's not unusual to find them when I'm looking for fluke shallow and around patchy jetty rocks. I dig them out once in a while just to check them out and watch them bury themselves. I dug one out in the inlet early spring that must have been 8-9lbs. Biggest one I ever saw. I almost bent my shaft digging it out to get a look at it. This new stargazer craze has got me scratching my head. You guys really like them huh?

Oh, vis is excellent NNJ

Re: Daily Vis report thread

Anyone have a central jersey vis report around asbury park and north of there? Went on thursday and it was pretty bad, but managed to see a few small bass and puffers

Yea. I always see stargazers.

Anyone ever get shocked by one? I've been shocked on land but never in water.
