Thanksgiving Weekend

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend with family.
After Thursday was very happy to get out and get a few days of diving in before ARS closed. Temp shallow in 50' was 67 degrees. Viz about 25 foot. Also dove deeper in 120' and 90'. Viz about the same. Bit warmer at 70 degrees. Will try and be back out this weekend and as many days as I can in Dec before gags close until Sept 2023. Here's a video from 90'

Re: Thanksgiving Weekend

We went out Friday for almost a 2 hour run with fishing poles. 3 of us were done with ARS in a very short time. Biggest was around 13#. The rest averaged around 10#-11#. Something huge took my bait. I couldn't put anymore drag on the line without it breaking. It just slowly made its way pulling out line till it cut me off under the ledge. Probably, a big jewfish. Didn't run like a shark. Hit another place on the way in for gags. 3 nice ones and a mangrove in the box. Even with radar the run out took longer than normal due to the thick fog. Never can be too careful out there with all the traps and floating debris. The final run home was fast with the fog gone. You did great shooting on the fish. That's a very nice dive ladder on that boat for easy boat entry.

Re: Thanksgiving Weekend

Nice video Dave! Great job of prioritizing species, being methodical, and shooting the fish that wants to get shot. Very impressive stringer!
