this guy should know better by his fb page he fishes and spears in utah. If it was someone who did not know some high school kid that be one thing but this guys should know.

It sure looks like he knew. He catches the first lobster and holds it up out of the water. His buddy points towards shore, and he brings the lobster back under water. Then he is dumb enough to post a video of it.

Just a heads up for EVERYONE who goes after any kind of fish:

Read the definition of TAKE:

The CDFW definition of "take" is this: Hunt, pursue, catch, capture or kill fish, amphibians, reptiles, mollusks, crustaceans or invertebrates or attempting to do so.

So, if you 'catch' a lobster, bring it to the surface and then let it go in August??? You ARE definitely poaching, unless you have a valid collectors permit.
If you only chase a lobster, just to check it out....... you are still guilty under the law.
