Childrens pool seals rape human?

I was at childrens pool two weeks ago and when i got out of the water some guy came up to me and said someone was mauled by a seal in the morning and his head was all bloody. He seemed like a nice guy but i think he was just trying to scare me off the beach with that story. what do u guys think?

Did you ask him if he wanted another mauling??Someone who walks up to me covered in blood like that would get the barrel of my gun in their chest. Obviously unloaded but I wouldn't let some dumb ass creep up like that just to tell me his made up story about getting beat up by a seal. Regardless of how nice he may be...

there is no way he got mauled. but recently on a dive I saw a seal give birth and I really thought she might bite me. she was not happy that I was so close. other then that time they are super friendly almost to the point of domestication.

Dave P got bite at CP. From what I remember he was in the surf with a mother and baby seal. A wave bowled him over and apparently freaked out the mom. The mom bit Dave on the Achilles tendon. Point being that all of the seals and sea lions are wild animals. Despite what those little ecoterrorist think.

I think it is possible that a seal attacked someone. If that person was being threatening a seal or sea lion could bite. HOWEVER...I don't think it is very likely.

I was at Stillwater south a few years ago and the seals were pretty aggressive. They had just had pups, and everywhere I tried to dive I got buzzed. When I got out, another diver said somebody got nipped on the arm a few days prior. I suppose it could happen...

As I recall.... Dave was around the corner..... outside of CP when this happened......

But....... Main point is correct.... harbor seals and sealions are BIG Wild animals..... and they will bite!

Anytime you are in the water with pups or babies there is a risk of getting hurt. Just like with dolphin( flipper )....hell I've heard stories of mahi mahi ramming people as well...

Probably someone got scraped on a rock looking for lobster. The seals are really tame. Sea Lions on the other hand....
