Glad you survived and did not sustain crippling injuries.
I am surprised they flew you out in a helicopter in Cuba!
If you were in most places in Brazil, were life is not really worth much, there would be no helicopter. I have seen more than one compressor divers with the bends been left to 'recover' in their shacks, remaining crippled for life, instead of being flown out to the nearest city with the appropriate bariatric chamber to conduct the necessary decompression procedure to cure them. Many, they limp through town all day.
