Some needs to post some reports in the Fort Lauderdale Area
Well, I've been up in Seattle for 3.5 months now. Dealing with rain, snow and 35-/+ degrees on a daily basis. It is not fun when you are used to the warm south florida weather. I was just looking at the webcams and I wanted to cray looking at those flat seas (looked clean too) and not being able to do anything about it. It is going to be a while before I go back down there to shoot some fish but I know there are plenty of people enjoying the sport. Please shoot one for me and post a picture. You don't know how much I envy you all (in a good way). Thank you in advance.

Re: Some needs to post some reports in the Fort Lauderdale Area
Best I can do is say that I did a quick beach dive on Sunday, flat calm and water in the mid to low 70's, vis was about 40' +. No fish and just a few small lobster, but I did find this, empty, sitting upright in the sand, could not have been emptied more than a few days.

Wow, look at the colors on that thing. Thank you very much for the post. My grandparents used to have a huge one back in Cuba. I know how fished out Fort Lauderdale is but if you a couple of numbers and the conditions you had the other day it could turn out different. Thank you once again.

wow that's a nice conch. i've only found 1 really nice one like that.
however, the Ft. laud. area has been ok. i went out to the 2nd reef saturday and it was decent vis, 30ft or so, i'm sure deeper was better. it always is now it's all blown out and should clear up wednesday or thursday leaving friday blown out again. |

Now that the cold has blown over I'm thinking to take the boat out. Maybe 1-2 tanks about 50-100ft and some free diving mixed in... PM me if you want to tag along (tomorrow morning).
