For only having gone halibut diving twice I'd say you got it down. Nice work, cool story, keep at it!

P.s. halibut will exponentially improve as table fare if gilled, gutted and left buried in ice for a day before they are filleted dark side of the fish facing downward. The meat will go from yellowish and a little less than firm to bright white and firm.

Nice, congrats on a fine fish............... You are dead on...... relax and you see more...... it's just that simple...... I often tell people to leave their spear on the beach....... and see how much more they see............ new spearos often have a hard time with this..... but once you are really comfortable and relaxed in the water..... you will be a much more successful hunter.
